Job Description:

 

 

NanoGram is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) EH&S Specialist to develop and oversee the Environmental, Health and Safety program for NanoGram, including Environmental compliance, Occupational Safety and Health, and Workers Compensation Administration. This position is responsible for the management and/or implementation of Environmental Quality and occupational health and safety programs and projects. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop, implement and review EHS policies and procedures
  • Act as lead for the following EHS programs: Chemical Hygiene, Injury Illness and Prevention, Hazardous Communication, Hazardous Material Business Plan, Hazardous Materials Shipping Management, Hazardous Waste Management/disposal, Contractor Safety Program, Ergonomics, and the Safety Committee
  • Oversee employee safety training including identifying training needs, providing on-site employee training, auditing for compliance and training records maintenance
  • Act as First Responder Team Member: attend/lead meetings, safety actions and perform drills
  • Lead emergency response review and investigation reporting
  • Participate in process safety reviews for equipment/tool installation, qualification or relocation
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly safety inspections and follow up on required actions to mitigate safety hazards
  • Regular review and compliance of Federal, State and Local EH&S regulations
  • Maintain safety records and provide regular reports and safety updates to management
  • Act as a primary contact for regulatory agencies, inspections and reporting
  • Maintain and implement compliance calendar including all environmental operation permits

Job Requirements:

 Eight (8) years of experience in comprehensive environmental health and safety practice in industrial environment

·Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements for environmental and occupational safety compliance
·Direct experience in interacting with local, regional, and state regulatory agencies and/or associated entities
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
·Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision and direction and to exercise sound judgment
·May be required to utilize a variety of personal protective equipment and work hands on with hazardous waste removal
·Must have experience in incident command and control protocol
·Investigative and reporting experience
·Certification in Industrial Hygiene preferred
·Facility and Security experience a plus
