We are currently seeking a Research Associate to join our Environmental Energy Technologies Division. As a part of the Energy Efficiency Standards Group, the Research Associate will support the group?s work on utility usage modeling by collecting and analyzing data on electricity and water utility usage, as well as model water and energy flows in the Sacramento basin.
Position Overview: Research Associate
The Research Associate will:
* Collect both utility water and electricity use data from project partners, internet and other data sources.
* Perform comprehensive literature review to obtain technical and financial data for utility water and electricity use.
* Perform preliminary analysis of collected data to develop databases that will used to assess outcomes/results.
* Assist in performing economic and engineering analysis to assess the impact of climate change on water and energy use of utilities within the region.
* Provide additional support in the form of preparing presentation materials, reviewing project related papers and compiling information.
* Contribute to preparing LBNL reports by preparing tables and graphs, and writing sections of reports.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, and up to two years of related work experience.
* Experience conducting supervised research on complex projects.
* Proven experience in taking the initiative, as well as good organizational skills.
* Ability to exercise good judgment and participate in collaborative efforts.
* Strong oral communication skills.
* Proven technical writing skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office software.
* Excellent econometric analysis and mathematical skills.
* Experience working with spreadsheets and databases.
* Experience working with electrical and/or water utilities.
* Masters degree or equivalent work experience in an economic discipline or related field is preferred.

This is a full-time, one year Term appointment with the possibility of renewal or conversion to Career, based upon performance, business needs and continuation of funding.
