The Logistics Manager – Project management will lead the Logistics activity for all Clipper managed ‘to site’ logistics projects for CTW assemblies and ‘Direct to site’ delivery components such as blades and towers. This individual will be accountable for ensuring that this area of logistics management is developed into a reliable and quality revenue stream that our Commercial operations team can offer to our customers. An effective communicator at all levels this highly motivated individual will interface with key external & internal customers and stakeholders and is charged with developing and deploying a Logistics strategy in order to minimize total system cost and maximize profitability while delivering superior customer service & quality. With a ‘continuous improvement’ and metric based mind set this individual will move the organization towards a “best in class” logistics operation that directly contributes to the achievement of corporate goals and creates value for our customers.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop/implement a world class ‘to site’ Logistics strategy for Clipper Windpower that is integrated with internal stakeholders and minimizes total system cost opportunity while providing superior customer service.
• Collaborate with all management to develop continuous improvement methodology and use key performance indicators to drive/quantify cost optimization while maintaining customer quality/service.
• Develop/implement process/system enhancements to reduce costs/improve operational efficiency/accuracy (inventory/invoicing)/customer service levels. Identify needs/resource gaps/develop plans to close as necessary.
• Develop productive/successful internal and external working relationships at all levels and engage with other sectors of the business to leverage potential cross sector opportunities to achieve overall business objectives/targets/goals.
• Able to effectively identify strong partner suppliers whilst addressing issues with supplier relationships promptly and effectively. Can develop relationships without simply resourcing.
• Able to develop/negotiate/refine Logistics contracts that optimize Clippers position.
• Identify/propose/structure creative logistics and transportation solutions for internal and external customers.
• Stay abreast of industry-leading logistics/transportation processes/ operational improvements; implement those that meet Clipper Windpower near-term objectives/long term strategies. |

• Understand regional differences for logistics and customs legislation based on the business model and complexities of those regions
• Develop and manage strategic alliances with contract partners for transportation, brokerage, 3PL, storage and distribution. Work globally within logistics as well as cross functionally with peers to develop consistent practices.
• Ensure projects delivered within budget and ensure customers needs understood and changes anticipated.
• Establish metrics, tracks and maintain Key Performance Indicators, Acceptable Performance Levels, and other performance metrics to ensure regulatory compliance, drive business needs and customer satisfaction for projects.
• Work closely with peers to ensure needs are being met for each business and/or decisions are made for the benefit of the organization

Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
• BS in Management, Logistics or Manufacturing
• Min 5 years Logistics experience
• Ideal candidate will be passionate about logistics at all levels, collaborative, and flexible as well as demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities.
• Must be a highly motivated and inspired individual that possesses strong organizational skills, communication skills and has the ability to articulate Clipper Windpower’s programs and business strategies to drive demand and position the company as the department leader.
• Candidate must possess excellent analytical skills and combined formal process development in order to make and support critical business decisions.
• Ability to conceptualize, develop and subsequently implement best practice.
• Must have solid understanding of global logistics and a strong ability to connect it to the rest of the business.
• Understands INCOTERMS and logistics/customs legislation.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 standards

• Windpower knowledge and experience
• MBA or MS in Management, Logistics
